Where to get water at the Olympic Park

Take an empty bottle through security with you.  There are plenty of water fountains, usually near the food stalls.  Once into the stadium you will find drinking fountains behind some of the outer circle toilets.  There are lots of food outlets so move away from the ticket check area and you will find less crowded outlets

The queues to buy drinks are long as you come in but ease once the events start.  It pays to leave your seat early and get refreshments as the queues got longer again about 11.30.  Drink and chocolate sellers do come around during the event as well

Push chairs and the Olympic Park

The Mouse family saw the Paralympics athletics yesterday.  They travelled on the Javelin train from Kings Cross to Stratford International.  The escalator was very busy and people with pushchairs had to    fight their way through the crowds to get to the lift.  Some people found it hard to get off the train - it is probably easier to be in the front or back carriage and wait for the crowds to thin before trying to get to the lift.

At the stadium there are several buggy parks which filled up very quickly.  Tie something distinctive to yours so you can retrieve it easily

Holding An Olympic Torch

Mother Mouse had a chance to hold an Olympic Torch.  People from the charity Children of The Andes were visiting places around London and letting people hold a torch and have their photograph taken.  Here is a link to some of the pictures taken

Wenlock and Mandeville

Wenlock and  Mandeville are the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Mascots.  You can see them all around London and there are 6 trails you can go on to see them.  The map that we gave out to tourists had the Wenlock and  Mandeville trails marked on.  You can also get a more detailed trail map at http://www.molpresents.com/stroll

Father Mouse at Trafalgar Square

Father Mouse was at Trafalgar Square for his London Ambassador duties.  It was very exciting and he and his team had to help a lost child.  Luckily they managed to find the parents.  The team at Trafalgar Square was much bigger than the Liverpool Street team and they had a large pod with touch screens inside to help the tourists.

The Geffrye Museum

Some tourists asked Grandma Mouse  about the The Geffrye Museum.  The museum is set in old almshouses and has 11 rooms showing furniture from different periods.  Mother Mouse loves the 1960 room as it reminds her of the furniture she used to have.

It is not far from Liverpool Street (bus 149 or 242) and is by Hoxton Station on the London Overground and also on bus routes 243 from Old Street.

5 days of helping people

Mother and Father Mouse have been very busy helping people in London.  Mother Mouse was working at Liverpool Street Station and Father Mouse was at Trafalgar Square.

They started by meeting their manager and having a meeting with other people in the team.  After that they split up and helped tourists, giving them maps and ideas of where to go.

Mother Mouse quickly learnt how to direct people to Spitalfields and Brick lane and to the Stansted Express and coach service.  She also had to help people find bookshops, currency exchange, a key cutter and restaurants.  The team had to help one upset girl who was meeting her friends at Starbucks.  The only problem is there are 4 Starbucks at the station!!

The oddest question Mother Mouse was asked was
'Where is the scary church!'

She thought that was probably to do with Jack the Ripper and was in Spitalfields.  Do you know the answer?
